I wanted to build a brand. So I built the whole thing.

Hi/Lo Bikini Co. started as a creative outlet and a little entrepreneurial experiment.

I've always loved swimwear and fashion, and I wanted to see what would happen if I took a business idea and built it from scratch.

From developing the brand and designing the online store to selecting products, writing copy, and creating content, I had the freedom to explore every part of building a consumer brand.

The Short Version

A little creativity. A lot of learning.

Hi/Lo gave me the opportunity to experiment with e-commerce beyond just designing a website.

I explored dropshipping and print-on-demand models, researched suppliers, evaluated product quality, and learned firsthand how much the customer experience depends on what happens behind the scenes. It wasn't just about making the storefront look good. It was about understanding the products, the fulfillment process, and whether the experience could live up to the brand.

Building the experience.

I developed the brand's visual direction, designed and managed the e-commerce website, curated products, wrote descriptions and marketing copy, and created content for social media.

With complete creative freedom came the challenge of making everything feel cohesive, from the first impression to the product someone received.

What Hi/Lo taught me.

Hi/Lo was a lot of fun—and a lot more work than I could commit to.

Ultimately, I didn't have the time or resources to grow it into the business I'd imagined. But the experience taught me a great deal about e-commerce, product sourcing, quality control, and the realities of running a small business.

Sometimes the value of building something isn't just in how far it goes, but in everything you learn along the way.
